HOME SWEET HOME
This fall–winter’s theme is “Home Sweet Home.”
It may sound classic, but the image comes from Norman Rockwell’s world and cozy family Christmas scenes in American movies.
Our denim and hickory shirts are easy to wear every day, designed with a subtle feminine touch. Cozy pants and the farmer’s dress in the same fabrics bring a gentle casual style—not too “Americana”—so they’ll be pieces you’ll want to wear on repeat.
We also made these styles in other fabrics, so be sure to check them out! Denim, hickory, and chino form the heart of the collection, surrounded by charming shirts and knitwear that will make you smile.
This fall–winter with Sara Wear, just by slipping into our clothes, you’ll feel like you’re already at your own Home Sweet Home lol

春のピクニックSpring Picnic
April 28, 2025

Golden Week is just around the corner. Are you planning any events?
Whether you’re having a long holiday or just a short break, May is a wonderful time. Everywhere you go, the deep greenery and wildflowers are beautiful, and the breeze is so refreshing.
Although I only recently started to appreciate the beauty of spring. (Laughs)
Before we know it, it will be summer, and the weather will quickly get hot. It can be tricky deciding what to wear. For those times, I often wear linen. It’s breathable and feels great on the skin. With a denim or cotton jacket, it’s perfect for this time of year. This year, Sara Wear’s linen collection is fantastic! There’s even a series called the Picnic Line.
It’s the perfect season for spreading out a lunch box at the beach or a park, and enjoying some beer or wine for an adult picnic. However, when sitting on a mat, your legs can often become a concern… That’s when a voluminous wrap skirt is ideal. The free-flowing legs make it comfortable! That’s why I call it a “Picnic Skirt.”
The checkered and solid fabrics have a slightly ethnic vibe, with colors like lavender and lemon that are bound to stimulate your appetite. In addition to this skirt, there are also blouses you can layer and the popular Tomoyo dress.
Recently, I’ve been hooked on Vietnamese sandwiches, “Bánh Mì,” and I’d love to have a picnic with sweet Vietnamese coffee and Bánh Mì during Golden Week. Of course, I’ll be wearing this skirt!

The weather has suddenly turned warm, and it looks like this weekend will be almost hot. But we can let our guard down just yet t that time of year when the temperature swings between cold and warm.
Spring has also arrived in the Sarahwear wardrobe!
Our theme for this spring and summer is:
Parisienne Goes to New York
I later realized it kind of the opposite of Emily in Paris. Haha!
I imagined a Parisienne going on a shopping spree in New York vintage stores. You often see young Parisiennes effortlessly styling American-style vintage pieces ike sweatshirts, retro cut-and-sew tops, denim jackets, or preppy madras and chambray shirts hile riding the subway. Honestly, they sometimes look even cooler than the originals!
I pictured them getting lost in the excitement of hunting for cute finds in a New York vintage shop.
For our catalog, we wanted to shoot on the streets of New York! But in reality, I just cut and pasted everything together. Haha!
I hope you l stop by our store and experience this fun and playful vibe for yourself!

Well, there are only a few days left of this year.
Christmas, year-end parties, the end of the work year, cleaning up, I’m sure you’ve all spent the last week of the year in a rage.
This year’s nightlife seems to have been more exciting and glamorous than ever before in Corona!
Looking back on the past year for me personally, it was an ordinary year, nothing remarkable at all. However, recently I have had more opportunities to visit exhibitions and galleries, and I have come to enjoy them in a way I never did before, and I have come to honestly think how beautiful and interesting they are, and how I would like to have them nearby.
It was a year in which I wanted to get in touch with art in more and more different ways.
Salaware is taking on new challenges one by one this year. We started an installation live from our shop in Jiyugaoka. This has been well received and our staff are encouraged. We are also exploring new forms of catalogue making. We want to create something that everyone can enjoy and not end up being self-satisfying. We also have a workshop in our atelier, which sometimes echoes with the sound of our sewing machines.
Well, it looks like it’s going to be a mild New Year’s in Tokyo, but if you’re in an area with heavy snow, please be careful and stay warm.
We apologise for not being able to get Watts New up all year.
Our ambition for next year is to bring you as much great information as possible.
We would like to thank you all for your support this year and look forward to working with you again next year. We look forward to working with you again next year.
We wish you a peaceful and happy start to the next year.

もう9月も半分以上終わってしまいました。 気候のせいか”まだまだ秋の気分じゃないわ” という方がほとんどですよね。 でも、そんな気分をバシッと秋にさせてしまう、サラウェアからのお知らせです。 そう …
September is already more than half over.
Most of you are probably saying, “I’m not in the mood for autumn yet”, probably because of the weather.
But here’s an announcement from Salawear that will make you feel like autumn.
Yes, our autumn/winter catalogue is ready. We’ve stopped using a magazine format for the last catalogue and made a better one! We’ve made it look good, so we’ve made a product with a lot of spirit. [Laughs.
The catalogue has a CD-jacket style, in keeping with the theme of Buskers (London street musicians). The contents are a secret!
The products are coming in one after another. Not to mention the classics that everyone loves, classic tweed jackets, fluffy nostalgic dresses, popular corduroy trousers and more, making autumn co-ordination fun.
Oasis is all about reunion, so I’m also buying a new Sarah Ware mod coat this year.

I choose movies as a movie director, and the only person who is conscious of the producer is Jerry Bruckheimer of “Top Gun” (laughs). Even so, recently, Mitsunobu Kawamura, a person who was conscious of the producer for the first time, who was listed as a producer in common with the movies he watched and the movies he watched, passed away.
I think that he was the one who entrusted the completion of the movie by selecting a director who can plan and shape it properly, but the movies introduced are also “The Notebook to Read”, “Wrestler”, “I can’t breathe” etc. It was really good.
For the past 10 years, I have been devoted to Japanese movies, and recently I think that many people have been moved by watching “The Journalist” starring Tori Matsuzaka.
Today I would like to introduce “Akane-colored Burn” released last year.
Mother-in-law Yoshiko (Machiko Ono), a mother and child who lost her husband in an unreasonable traffic accident seven years ago, does not receive compensation from the perpetrator and takes care of her father-in-law while working at the flower department of the supermarket and night customs I managed to live with my junior high school son Junpei (Wadaan).
Her mother behaved patiently without showing her anger and sadness in her chest to her son, who cares for her mother despite being humiliated by her son. I am living.
Machiko Ono performed well with Ryoko screaming what the socially vulnerable were.
What she did not let go of her parents and children who struggled desperately to get out of the vulnerable.
The theme of the movie is hotter than the title, it’s clean and intense, but it makes me feel kind after watching it.
Masatoshi Nagase and Yuki Katayama set aside.
This time I may get angry, but I will attach a trailer.https://youtu.be/OBDnn1qgyzU

High school hunters (AdrianGreensmith) and Kevin (Jaeden Lieberher) who like heavy metal seek a bassist to form a band and enter the contest, but they have few friends and no one around them wants to play metal music. Every day I couldn’t find a student and practiced by playing the guitar and drums alone. Kevin on drums invites her companion to learn that the weirdo Emily (Isis Hainworth), who is taking tranquilizers to control her anger due to stress, can play the cello. She decided to add a cello instead of a bass and aim to win as a three-piece band. The addition of Emily cracks the friendship between Hunter and Kevin, and the band goes in the wrong direction. The director Peter Sollet of “Hands of Love” is fiercely harmonizing with the two men who are humorously trying to become a metal road and Emily, a cut character, until the promised last concert. It will charm you nicely. Heavy metal youth told like a parable in modern America. A little public about having lived without being interested in heavy metal.

[At that time. ] Published in 2021 Speaking of otaku, I think of Hachiro Taku, but when I search for it, it’s a name that refers to enthusiasts, but I think that it will change slightly depending on whether you are an otaku or an enthusiast. The stage is the story of adults who are crazy about Hello! Project idols in Osaka in 2004. I wasn’t so interested in Morning Musume and Aya Matsuura that I didn’t even know the word Hello! Project, but I enjoyed watching it. Makoto (Matsuzaka Tori), who has failed to take the university entrance exam and has no girlfriend, is a dull young man who lives without a hitch while eating instant food every day. One day, when I saw Aya Matsuura’s music video that I got from a friend, I became absorbed in the idol of Hello! We will form a “love club” with them and work hard to raise awareness of idols at talk events and other events. Still, time goes by, and when you leave one person, you gradually become separated from another person. Even so, when Cosmin got sick, my friends reunited and my nostalgic days came back. Takashi Yamanaka who plays otaku, Tateto Serizawa, Oga Nakano and others weave otaku patterns, and the enthusiasm of acting that even I, who is not interested in Hello! An idiot movie that can be said to be a ridiculous and honorable mention. When I finished watching it, it was salty at that time.

[The Last Picture Show] Released in 1971 The other day, director Peter Bogdanovich passed away. “Paper Moon” was good, but I can’t forget this “Last Show”. It’s unclear which one I saw first, but it’s a masterpiece as an oldies fashion movie along with 60’s “American Graffiti”, but for some reason it’s a closed Texas inland area rather than the glamorous youth of Califulnia. I was attracted to the style of young people and watched it. Even though it was black and white, the checkered shirt, Hawaiian shirt, G Jean, and high rise pants of Civil Shaper had a navel look, which left a brilliant impression on me as a high school student. .. (Not real time) I became interested in the 50’s style and tried on the shirts and trousers I wore when my father was young, and when I saw the clothes of my older sisters JUN and VAN, I became resentful. is. The story is about high school students such as Sony (Timothy Potoms) who are young in the remote countryside of Texas where entertainment facilities are only movie theaters and pool halls, and Sam (Lion Sam), the owner of the facility, which is trusted by all the townspeople. Ben Johnson) is the center of the story of the town becoming lonely. This movie gives a glimpse of the disparity society before the Korean War and before the Vietnam War in Amegra, but I wonder if there is a similar town in the modern United States where the disparity is serious and the crisis in Ukraine and Taiwan is approaching. I will.
As an aside, Tom Ford is from Texas, isn’t he?

Asakusa Kid] Now available on Netflix from 202112/9
Isn’t there one person who can be said to be a master?
This movie vividly depicts the young days spent by the comedy mogul Beat Takeshi with Senzaburo Fukami, the only entertainer on the stage in Asakusa.
The French theater in Asakusa, which sells elegant strips centered on dance and laughter conte between the intermissions.
The center of laughter in the 70’s is Takeshi (Yuya Yagira), an elevator boy who longs for Fukami (Yo Oizumi) who plays a sharp conte in the theater alone while moving to TV such as Conte55 and Drifters.
With the rise of television, the number of customers in the management of the French theater is declining and leaning as if it is inversely proportional to Takeshi, who has successfully become a disciple and mastered tap dancing.
I picked up this movie because I want to watch such a movie that makes me laugh and cry on New Year’s Day, but I can’t watch this movie at the cinema. I think we have entered a new era where we can’t watch movies even though they are movies, but it seems that Japanese movie companies have been reluctant to do so because the planning, script, and director are the only theater companies.
The reason why Japanese movies are not good is that we cannot sponsor such a masterpiece.
I have no connection with Netflix, but it costs 990 yen a month, and it’s good enough to watch this movie and cancel it.
We hope you all have a good year.

[Last night in Soho] Released in 2021 The last time was a dora picture, so this time I will introduce a pretty cool movie. Eloise (Thomas Mackenzie), who lives with her grandmother in her countryside, enrolls in a design school in Soho, London to become a fashion designer. Seen as a redneck and curious, Ayrose is unfamiliar with dormitory life, and an old woman begins living alone in the attic of an old landlord’s apartment. Inspired, Ayrose travels back in time to Soho in the late 1960s in her dream on her first day to meet Sandy (Anya Tiller-Joy), who dreams of being a singer. Eloise, who longs for London in the 1960s, sympathizes with Sundi chasing his dreams, and while he goes out to Soho in the 1960s many times in his dreams, he becomes physically and mentally synchronized with Sandy. , Reality and dreams will be mixed ,. The footage directed by Edgar Wright, a genius who pays homage to 60’s UK movies and music, is retro and stylish, and dramatically develops with UK 60’s sounds such as Cilla Black and The Who, making it an unbearable movie for retro lovers. It has become. If you want to see it but you are scared and haven’t seen it, please think that you have been deceived and watch it. I promise that you can leave the movie theater comfortably.

映画『国宝』主題歌「Luminance」原摩利彦 feat. 井口 理(King Gnu)Theme song: “Luminance” (from the film Kokuhō)
December 29, 2025
Once again, the end of the year has arrived in the blink of an eye. As I look back on the many moments of this year, one that stands out is the hugely popular film Kokuhō. Have you seen it?
I’m someone who experiences films quite intensely and doesn’t do well watching them in a crowd, so I usually refrain from going to movie theaters. But this time, I really wanted to see it on the big screen, so for the first time in years, I went to the cinema.
My impression in a single word: Beautiful!
I found myself lingering in the afterglow of its dazzling scenes for quite a while.
Kabuki truly is a magnificent traditional art—something Japan can be proud to share with the world.
When I was in high school, we once went to see a Kabuki performance as part of a school trip. But I was far too young at the time, and I don’t remember anything about the performance itself. What a shame.
Years later, when I was chatting with my former classmates, I asked if anyone remembered that Kabuki outing.
That’s when… a rather shocking truth came to light.
Even after the scheduled start time, the performance didn’t begin, and—as you might expect from a group of high school girls—the chatter just wouldn’t stop. After some time, an actor appeared on stage and said,
“Because you will not stop talking, we cannot begin the performance!”
It turned into a serious scolding—and the speaker was a Living National Treasure.
The fact that I had completely erased this entire incident from my memory makes me truly ashamed. I sincerely apologize.
That said, being personally scolded by a Living National Treasure is actually an incredibly rare experience! (Even though I had forgotten all about it.)
Thank you for indulging me in this completely music-unrelated story at the very end of 2025.
Wishing you all a truly wonderful New Year.
Earth, Wind & Fire 『September』September

It’s already September. And when I hear “September,” of course this song comes to mind—Earth, Wind & Fire’s September (1978).
Such a masterpiece, it feels like it plays all year round, and no matter when you listen, it always lifts your spirits.
I used to think of it as a refreshing song for the transition from summer to autumn, but then I was shocked to realize the lyrics are actually about remembering September 21st during the Christmas season in December!
The performance is dazzling—not only the incredible vocals but also the fun costumes. And the way the many band members appear even more numerous on screen makes the whole vibe lively and joyful. 🎶

This season, Sarawear’s theme is “A Parisienne Goes to New York.”
The collection is a joyful expression of Sarawear’s unique style, inspired by a Parisienne enjoying a shopping spree at vintage stores in New York.
In keeping with the theme of the collection, I’ve chosen this particular song from among the many iconic New York-themed tracks:
Elbow Bones & The Racketeers – “A Night in New York” (1983)
With its glamorous big band sound, charming vocals, and lovely melody, I’m absolutely smitten.
The dazzling world of nightclubs… I used to dance to this song at home, completely entranced.
It’s been a while since I last listened to it, but no matter how much time passes, it always lifts my spirits.
I’ve never been to New York, but I truly love this song!

This year’s summer weather has lasted a long time, and the end of the year is already here, even though we were talking about hot weather until recently.
What was the year 2024 like for you?
Looking back, many events come to mind.
One of them was the Olympic Games in Paris. I am not good at sports and don’t know the rules of most of the events, but I enjoyed the success of the Japanese athletes.
And I will never forget Celine Dion, who appeared at the finale of the opening ceremony. I couldn’t believe that it had been four years since she took a break from singing to recuperate, and her stunning voice brought tears to my eyes. This year’s grand finale will be Celine’s soulful “Hymn to Love”.
Thank you very much for your continued support for this year’s music column.
I hope you all have a wonderful New Year.
追悼クインシー・ジョーンズさん『Rock With You』 In memory of Quincy Jones『Rock With You』

Lately, there have been several tributes to prominent figures in the music world, and while it feels lonely, it also brings me back to their music and fills me with gratitude for the incredible music they left us with.
Quincy Jones. When we think of Quincy, his song “Ai no Corrida” (1981) comes to mind, but I’ll set that aside for now. As a music producer, he worked for many years, and most notably, he brought together a group of unique, star musicians for the charity single “We Are the World” (1985) by USA for Africa, all within the limited time of a few hours—a well-known story.
Today, I chose a song from Michael Jackson’s album Off the Wall (1979), the first album Quincy produced for Michael. So cool! I wonder if the two of them are having a great reunion up there in heaven.
